It sounds different, it smells different, and it looks very different to any other landscape in Europe. The moor is a unique, almost exotic habitat. And yet it's at your very doorstop – in Bourtanger Moor Nature Park. And the plateau takes on a new array of colours with the perpetual changing of the seasons. In May, the soft fruiting heads of the cotton grass shine like white lights, while in August, common heather and bell heather glow purple. And against the dark mirror of the pools, countless multicoloured damsel flies and butterflies dart and dance in the air.
This year too, we are offering a wide range of guided tours on various themes.
