In the spring, the cotton grass covers the moor like a soft carpet, in August, the heather transforms the expanse into a sea of purple flowers, and in the winter, the landscape is cloaked in frost and snow. At twilight, the moor looks almost mystical, with a dramatic beauty that may even suggest a hint of danger. The horizon is far in the distance, and an eerie silence fills the landscape. The moor seems almost unworldly at certain times of the year and day, making for truly unique scenery in which to walk.
